Otsu-e ("Otsu pictures") are folk paintings that were painted and sold in the Omi (Shiga) regions of Otani and Oiwake, and that are said to originate in the Edo period (1603 - 1868). You will find many of them lining this special path, allowing you to enjoy some of their representative works while taking a stroll.
