The ruins of Omizo-jo Castle and the old castle town were reorganized by the powerful Wakebe clan, and the old waterworks and water channels that draw water from mountains and wells are still being used by residents today. At the Otomegaike Pond inner lake the scenery from long ago, where the Omizo-jo "water castle" stood, can still be enjoyed, and water from lakes and ponds has been tied to lifestyle here since long ago.
