SHIGA
Tour Design Ichie Wado specializes in a half-day "Otsu-e" folk art workshop & immersive local culture walk for foreign tourists in Otsu, Shiga.
The tour is designed and curated by Misato Takahashi, whose late father was an Otsu-e artist. Misato is dedicated to the preservation of Otsu culture and Otsu-e painting, a form of traditional folk art that originated in Otsu approximately 400 years ago.
This unique cultural experience is an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in Japan's artistic heritage and experience the creativity and artistic expression that has enriched the local culture of Otsu for centuries. And with only a 10-minute train ride from Kyoto Station, you can relax in the cozy lakeside town of Otsu while exploring its rich history and treasures. We very much look forward to hearing from you!
