SHIGA
Jizokawa River is comprised of pure spring water such as Isame no Shimizu, and is famous for the extremely rare water buttercups that grow in the river. Jyuousui is another type of water also found in the Jizokawa River, a famous water source that was opened during the Heian period (794 - 1185). Furthermore, in the Samegaijuku area there remain facilities that provided horses and aid to Daimyo lords and other important people who passed through during the Edo period (1603 - 1868), which have been restored completely. It is also a registered Japan Heritage site.
