Guesthouse Mio is a traditional Japanese townhouse that was renovated in 2018. There are rooms on the first and second floors, allowing a total of eight people to stay. The house has been updated with modern plumbing, allowing you to pass your time in comfort while also experiencing the joys of an old house. As the guesthouse only takes one booking her day, you will have a completely private space. It comes recommended for couples, families, and groups.
The guesthouse is located with the Hachiman-bori canals flowing right in front of it. Numerous tourist spots are also located within walking distance, including the old town of Omihachiman, Himure Hachimangu Shrine, the cluster of buildings designed by William Merrell Vories, and the Mt. Hachiman ropeway. From the top of Mt. Hachiman you can look out over the spreading townscape of Omihachiman and Lake Biwa itself. Alternatively to the ropeway you can also make the ascent on foot, perfect for a morning hike.
In the old town you can still find many traces of the famous Omi merchants, making Omihachiman a perfect place to come into contact with the history of Japan.
We will do everything we can to allow you to relax and enjoy your stay in the guesthouse with your friends and family, and to create some wonderful memories by walking about a historical old town.
