"Teori no Sato" Kongoen Handweaving Center is a facility that uses materials and live demonstrations to impart as widely as possible the characteristics and beauty of Omi-jofu (hemp cloth) and hatasho tsumugi (made from leftover silk). You can observe fabrics being dyed with bluegrass grown in the grounds, and there are also courses available that allow participants to actually dye fabric themselves or sew some hatasho tsumugi. (A reservation is in principle required for the experience courses).
