The first stop on the tour of the three mountains of Konan is Jorakuji Temple, located in a quiet and closed off settlement.
As soon as you enter the grounds, the first thing you see is the striking, cypress bark roofed main temple. There's no missing this beauty!
Behind it there rises an elegant three storey pagoda. If you're feeling a bit of pomp and circumstance from these two famous buildings, you should, because they are both designated National Treasures!
There are also no less than 33 stone statues of Kannon located around the pagoda and main temple. If you pay your respects to them all you can obtain the same benefits as visiting all of the famous 33 sacred places in the Kanto Region! Combine it with a leisurely stroll and see if you can do it!
