[Cherry Blossom] Okubiwako Parkway Cherry Blossom

The Okubiwako cherry blossoms are some of the most famous in all of Shiga Prefecture.

This 18.8km driveway in Okubiwako is lined with 3,000 cherry trees of 20 to 25 years of age, and is a spot that attracts visitors from far and wide.


The course from Kaizu-Osaki Peninsula to Okubiwako Parkway, a veritable tunnel of cherry blossoms, is an extremely popular route for a drive.

You can also enjoy plenty of natural beauty from the window of your car, including the Okubiwako region and Chikubushima Island, not to mention the incredible view from the Ozaki Observation point!


A drive while looking out over Lake Biwa feels so good, and the cherry blossom petals whirling in the wind are so beautiful!

The storm of blossoms is like a flower-shower toward the end of the flowering period, and feels absolutely incredible!
