This restaurant was originally constructed as the Otsu-Kokaido. It now retains that retro exterior while placing a modern restaurant on the first floor and a hospitality space and town planning facility on the second floor, providing a location where tourists and townsfolk can meet and interact.
It was designated a Structure of Landscape Importance in March 2010.
