At the BSC Watersports Centre visitors can enjoy a wide variety of activities on and around the lake.We attempted to windsurf. (Note the word “attempt.”)
A warm welcome at BSC.
The campers were eager to try out their English with us.
Curry for lunch - Yummy!
We split up and each sit down for lunch with a different group of kids.
Really? You think Doraemon is better than Anpanman?!?
Ahhhhh! (Water spillage)
Mr. Inoue (the owner) welcomed us to BSC.
After lunch we headed to the shore.
Some assembly required.
A quick crash course on how to windsurf.
… And away we go!
Now it's time for the real thing.
Heave-ho, me hearties!
"Catch me if you can!"
The sail was harder to pull up than expected… don't give up!
After an hour of flailing about it was time for a much needed break.
… wait, you mean we've supposed to stay ON the surfboard?
Safety first - life jackets on everyone.
Maybe we should have joined the kids Kayaking.
The sail is up! Not long before it goes down again…
"I meant to do that."
Almost there! Soon I'll be gliding over the water (probably).
Come back Andrew!
She makas it look so easy!
In the water! Again. Splashy, splashy, fun, fun!
Concentration and balance - two things I wish I had now.
Woo! We're windsurfing!
Just when we got the hang of things… time up.
Now, which direction is the wind coming from?
Windsurfing is a great workout. Three instant hunks are created.
That’s the way we roll.
… and now for a word from our sponsors. (Thank you!)
Boundlessly beautiful Biwako.
We are in the showers (no cameras all owed). Enjoy this photograph of the lake instead.
Time to go home soon - wish we could stay and camp with the kids.
It'll look good here!
Sun - kissed and exhausted, but tired!
